Last Friday, The Tide and Tiger pointed out to its readers that Gene Chizik's Auburn teams develop a bit of an Albatross around their proverbial neck whenever they get a 14 point lead {click to read}. Sometimes the Tigers win after building a 14 point lead, but they have an unbelievably bad record of blowing 14 point leads. Chizik's Tigers have lost four games after leading by 14 or more points. Three other times they have squandered 14 points leads but managed to win the games anyway. If you do the math, that's more than 20% of games during Chizik's reign in which Auburn hasn't been able to handle a 14 point lead. Saturday's game against Clemson confirmed the Albatross, because the Tigers blew not one, but two, 14 point leads. I'm sad to say, be wary Auburn fans.
