TRE LA SOUL - A NICKNAME BESTOWED:

Master recruiter Trooper Taylor was asked recently about which new Auburn player he thought would become a household name by the end of the season.  His response?

None other than the 5-10"/190lb true freshman running back Tre Mason.

By now, most Auburn fans know that Tre is the son of Vincent Mason, otherwise known as D.J. Maseo, one of the founding members of the influential hip hop group De La Soul.
Tre and his dad

Tre's unique lineage begs for a nickname.  What makes sense?  We here at The Tide and Tiger know! - "Tre La Soul."  Accordingly, The Tide and Tiger hereby bestows the nickname upon him!

Until we get to see Tre La Soul work his magic on the field Saturday, enjoy some classic De La Soul:

"Me, Myself and I"

  1. It should be noted that we voted against bestowing any nickname for a Barn player, other than Michael "Glock" Dyer and Clint "Waaah" Mosely...
